I am posting a Beta release of mPDF 5.0

mPDF 5.0 now works with TrueType .ttf font-files directly, and can embed subsets of fonts in TrueType form. So there is no longer any need to use pre-prepared font files, nor different codepages (win-1251, iso-8859-2 etc.).

Once the new system for using fonts is set up correctly, most of your scripts should work as before. Nevertheless I strongly suggest testing mPDF 5.0 without deleting your previous set-up.

Documentation for the new release is limited, but please read the CHANGELOG.txt, README.txt and FONT_INFO.txt files included in the download. You will need to edit the config_fonts.php file and possibly the config_cp.php and config.php files.

    Fantastic!!

Just replacing entirely from the version 4.6 and editing some configuration files a little, my script works and several Japanese TTF fonts are shown in PDF successfully.
In the previous version, after waiting long time to process makefont, I gave up to use CJK fonts being annoyed why white spaces were turned into "x".
It's very fascinating for me the new version works without any troubles!

I downloaded and used IPA fonts, that are good to use if it needs to generate Japanese PDF documents.
